[dennou-ruby:002645] RubyDCL and Robotics (Fw: Using DCL for RubyInLabs)

 Subject: Using DCL for RubyInLabs
----

Dear Mr. Horinouchi,
My name is Bruno Steux. I am Assistant Professor in Ecole des Mines de
Paris, a french institute depending on the Ministy of Industry. I'm
working in a Robotics Center, and I'm using the Ruby language more and
more in my application. Indeed, I'm planning to make Ruby as the
reference language for all our robots and in-car applications. At the
moment, I would like to build a software environnement to ease the use
of Ruby for scientific applications, that would be called RubyInLabs,
and probably in the future RubyInBots for robotics.
Here why's I'm writing to you : I would like to include in RubyInLabs
your Ruby/DCL lib. I'm planning to build RubyGems out of Narray,
Ruby/DCL and Ruby/GSL, in order to ease their installing and use
(particularly under Windows). This should be rather easy. Before that,
I'd like to modify a bit the Ruby/DCL to support writing into bitmaps
(byte array) so that we could you use the FOX GUI Library along with DCL
(just like you did with gave and GTK+). Basically, I'd like to write a
new driver for the DCL lib. This is where I have troubles : I don't know
how to recompile Ruby/DCL for Windows. It looks like I miss some files
in the Windows distribution. And I really can't understand any word of
Japanese, so I'm a bit lost on that... I just know I need a proto2c.rb
file.
Would it be possible that you help me sending where to retrieve the
necessary files to rebuild NumRu on Windows?
Thank you for your great work anyway. DCL/Ruby is really working nicely.
Best regards,
   B. Steux
