    よく勘違いをされますが、
	・CVSというプログラムは、
	    Copyleft(Copyright + GPL)によって保護されますが、
	・CVSのマニュアルである、cvs.texinfoは、GPLでは保護されません。
	    これは、通常のCopyrightと、GPLに相当するドキュメントに使われる、
	    3つの段落からなる許可文言によって、保護されています。
	    この3つの段落の文言は、明らかにGPLではありません。

    GPLは、プログラムのための使用許諾の筈。


以下は、cvs.texinfo冒頭からの問題の3つの段落の抜粋です。


    Permission is granted to make and distribute verbatim copies of this
manual provided the copyright notice and this permission notice are
preserved on all copies.

   Permission is granted to copy and distribute modified versions of
this manual under the conditions for verbatim copying, provided also
that the section entitled "GNU General Public License" is included
exactly as in the original, and provided that the entire resulting
derived work is distributed under the terms of a permission notice
identical to this one.

   Permission is granted to copy and distribute translations of this
manual into another language, under the above conditions for modified
versions, except that the section entitled "GNU General Public License"
and this permission notice may be included in translations approved by

    これによると、
	・この許可告知のFSF承認の日本語訳を、翻訳版マニュアルに載せる
	    (多分、存在しない)
	・このまま(訳さずに)、翻訳版マニュアルに載せる
のどちらかが必要かな(事実上の選択肢は後者のみ)。
